For today’s interview, let’s meet Ben again. This time, we are going to delve into how Content Tree utilises various tools to streamline the review process of SCORM-compliant e-learning module and ensure its seamless development. From web-based review tool to text-to-speech AI voice technology, we’ve got you covered.
E-learning Alpha and Beta Review Processes
Hi, Ben. I understand that once we’ve developed the SCORM-compliant e-learning module, it is crucial for our client to review the module before finally signing off. Can you explain how this review process works?
Sure, Sal. Our review process is divided into two stages, the Alpha Review, and the Beta Review.
In the Alpha Review stage, we use text-to-speech AI voice technology particularly MicMonster to generate AI voiceover for the e-learning modules. We then upload the SCORM file to Review 360 for client to provide their feedback. You can consider it as alpha version SCORM.
After receiving feedback from the Alpha Review, we proceed to engage our professional voice-over talents to replace the earlier SCORM. Subsequently, we publish the revised SCORM for the Beta Review stage. You can refer to the diagram below to better understand our review process.

Review 360 Feedback from Customer

I see that you use AI voiceover in the Alpha Review stage and use real human voiceover in later stage. Why is that so?
At the Alpha Review stage, utilising AI voiceover offers several advantages. Firstly, it allows our clients to provide feedback for fine-tuning animation work and narrative scripts without incurring significant costs associated with professional voice recordings. Since AI voiceovers can be easily adjusted and modified, any discrepancies or changes in the script can be addressed swiftly and cost-effectively.
This accelerates the development of the alpha version, ensuring rapid iterations and responsiveness to client feedback. Transitioning to real human voiceovers in the later stages ensures a polished and high-quality final product. This reflects our commitment to delivering the best possible e-learning experience.
Since there are multiple stakeholders involved in the review process, how do you keep track and consolidate all the reviews from different stakeholders?
It is definitely a challenge to gather all of the feedback from varying stakeholders. We used to send SCORM file to our clients for review and they often came back to us with contrasting feedback and conflicting suggestions which lead to confusion.
However, we managed to overcome this with Review 360. We no longer send SCORM file to clients, instead we just publish the e-learning content in Review 360. Here, clients’ stakeholders can directly post their comments as they view the content. What’s great about Review 360 is all stakeholders can collaborate and review each other’s feedback in one place. This helps to avoid redundant feedback and conflicting suggestions.
With Review 360, we can gather all the feedback throughout the e-learning project and manage comments that have been resolved after the Alpha and Beta Review. This expediates the development timeline and ensures the final product meets clients’ expectations.
During the review process, I’m sure there will be multiple changes made to the SCORM-compliant e-learning content. Are we able to track different versions of SCORM file after Alpha and Beta Review?
That’s a good question. Review 360 provides excellent versioning history capabilities where our clients can easily view the different versions of the SCORM file. Here, let me show you:
Review 360 Versioning Feature

The versioning feature offered by the platform allow us to incorporate the latest changes seamlessly and ensures accountability throughout the development process. Our clients can always view previous versions for comparison and analysis, ultimately enhancing the quality of our e-learning module.
Now that you mentioned about quality, how does Content Tree prioritize quality assurance in their e-learning modules, particularly in ensuring a seamless learning experience for learners?
In e-learning, providing a seamless learning experience is important because learners mainly interact with virtual objects. If there is bandwidth problem, it will result in difficulty downloading the e-learning content or performing tasks such as streaming videos. To ensure learners receive the best learning experience, we again leverage Review 360 as a tool for our quality control. Since we use the platform to host e-learning for review, we can address bandwidth issues and ensure a smooth viewing experience for clients, regardless of their LMS’s capabilities.
